TITLE: Viridian Swirl
Yellowknife, NT, Canada: January 2002
This image was taken at approximately 1 AM during a very intense Aurora Storm. It is common during strong storms for swirls to form, that mimic either astronomical galaxies or terrestrial tornadoes. This one was wrapped up into a single red ray. I believe the bright star in the middle is Deneb. Weather Conditions: Very Clear, dry, -35 degrees F.
