The trees in Yellowknife strain to reach for the scarce sunlight. Pine trees in this latitude grow short, stunted and skinny. Not much further north, trees do not grow at all, so most of these trees “live on the edge”. During strong outbursts, the aurora seems to mimic galaxies.
